The sage is blooming and the bees are starving (MPOG calls them the humming bushes because they are so heavy with bees in the late morning…)

They smell so fantastic in the warming air.

If I had been out running, I would never have been able to take the time to catch this guy munching on the flowers.  It was good for him to get out walking.  It was good to take the time for us to talk (for both of us) and it was good to take the time to ‘smell the roses’ and take time to take time to see what I sometimes miss.

Early Morning Texas Toadstools

We don’t see these very often in the summer time (there isn’t usually sufficient dew to allow for them to grow and rain hasn’t happened for days and days and days).  I got these before rabbits had any chance to munch down on them.

This morning I was out screwing around with my camera and the Roadrunner who lives in our easement was having breakfast.  The picture came out really cool.

This is the first roadrunner I found here.  He lives, I think about a hundred yards from the front door.  I didn’t realize what he had in his mouth until I actually looked at the picture.

One thing that happens here frequently is a beautiful sunrise and beautiful sunset.

I keep thinking… red sky in the morning, sailors take warning, red sky at night, sailors delight

but here… most mornings look like most evenings… beautiful

Ready for the ball

She spend the ENTIRE day getting ready for the ball… the military ball.  People apparently were somewhat surprised that she is a girl.

Once in a while I make it outside for lunch.  This was what I did with my today lunch… took pictures of neighborhood  churches.

I love the design of some buildings… some not so much, but architecture is something that I just love looking at, especially the differences in churches.

Do you think God really notices how fancy and pretty and expensive and new the building is that you sit in to worship?

Cars are interesting

I’m not sure if people sit around and look at the cars they are designing, or not.  If they don’t, then it is pure dumb luck that makes some cars’ designs look interesting.

In this case, the tail lights look a lot like cat’s eyes.

Or like angry demon eyes (since they are red and slanted and not green and almond shaped).

When you spend as much time in traffic, and you have a vivid imagination, you notice some really freaky stuff.

Everyone should have their very own personal wishing star

Everyone should really have their very own personal wishing star.  Something you can just hold in your pocket and touch when you feel like wishing upon a star.  You never know when these wishes might actually come true.

Window sill decorations

The way the window sill in the office looks… room for a coffee cut and an (almost aunt bea) paper weight.

There are things that I tend to gravitate towards just becuase they are a part of my past.  Paperweights are one of those things… seeing the light dance in them makes me think of Aunt Bea’s appartment with its shiny hardwood floors where the colors danced from the sun shining through the glass in her windows.
